Short biography
James is a graduate of Georgetown University with a degree in Government and minors in both Film Studies and History. In the fall of his junior year, he studied abroad at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, outside of Fez. His interest in development started in high school during a seminar-style class on World Poverty, when he was introduced to the work of Amartya Sen and William Easterly among others. He was drawn to Ubuntu because of the opportunity to see these theories would or would not work in the \'real world,\' as well his interest in traveling to India.
