Short biography:
Neelofer Shaikh is a Government and Chinese major at Georgetown University. Her interest in poverty alleviation stems from her work with the DC Schools Project, which focuses on improving basic education standards of low-income students in Washington, DC. She became interested in working with Ubuntu at Work in particular after visiting India in the summer of 2011 and witnessing first-hand how women were being left behind in the wake of the country\'s rapid economic development. She hopes to pursue a career in International Development after she graduates in 2013.
